About Palm, Hibiscus & Star Island
Palm, Hibiscus, and Star Islands, located in Biscayne Bay and accessible just by the MacArthur Causeway, are the place of exclusive and multi-million dollar houses and home of Miami’s wealthy elite. Palm Island lies just south of Hibiscus Island and west of Star Island. Star Island, the diamond of these three gems with only 35 homes, has some of the most unique and expensive properties in South Florida.
Since these islands were created, a large number of affluent and wealthy people, including personalities and celebrities, have owned properties in any of these islands. Among them are Don Johnson, Lenny Kravitz, Shaquille O’Neal, Will Smith, Madonna, Gloria Estefan, Alex Rodriguez, P.Diddy, and Sylvester Stallone. In 1939, after serving more than seven years in prison on tax evasion and Prohibition-laws charges, Al Capone retreated to the Palm Island estate he had bought more than a decade earlier, living there with his wife until his death in 1947.
